Important Notice to Our Patients: Change in Urine Sample Submission Process

Posted on:

Dear Patients,

We would like to inform you of an important change to our urine sample submission process at Priors Field Surgery. In order to streamline our procedures and ensure that we are able to provide the best possible care, we kindly request that you contact the surgery by telephone or Ask My GP before bringing in any urine samples.  As of today, we will only accept samples that have been specifically requested by a clinician. You will see new signage on our specimen collection bin to reflect this change.

This change will help us in the following ways:

  • Improved patient care: By knowing in advance that a sample is being submitted, we can manage and prioritise patient requests more effectively, ensuring a safer and quicker response.
  • More available appointments: Reducing the administrative work from unexpected or unnecessary samples means more appointment slots will be available for patients who need to see a nurse or healthcare assistant.
  • Conserving NHS resources: This will also help us avoid sending unnecessary samples to the lab, saving valuable time and resources.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter as we work to improve the services we provide.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery.

Thank you for your continued support.
