Setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) can be a straightforward process. If, however, there are concerns about your capacity to understand or appoint an LPA you may be required to obtain a capacity assessment. Unfortunately as GP's we are not able to perform these assessments which require specialist training and knowledge in order to be comprehensive and robust.
